Ori & Pascal Bortz: Ok, I have one simple question for you: Are Micah&Megan available for your wedding date? If you are lucky enough that they are, then Voila! Your search for a photographer is over. Book. Them. Now. Ok, now that you have made the best investment in your wedding, I can prepare you. This is no ordinary business transaction. I actually have been putting off this review for some time now just because I have so much to say. Micah and Megan will give you wedding photos that will move you, that will take you back to all the emotions of the day, that will make you smile and make you cry. I can honestly say I have watched video clips of my wedding, and they were not able to capture the same emotion as a chronological slide show of my photos. There is true artistry here. I can really go on and on about how stunning the photographs were, but you can see that on their website. What the website will not tell you is about Micah and Megan as people I can’t imagine someone meeting them and wanting anyone else to capture their big day. They are beautiful couple, and they love to see and capture the love in others. Keep this in mind: your photographers are following you the whole day. Even though Micah and Megan do this for a living, you know they love what they do because on the day it feels like they are family. While taking their amazing photos, they are not just going through the motions, they are going through the emotions. They truly share in your excitement. With that said, they do a great job of being unobtrusive. They aren’t distracting or draw any unwanted attention. They strike the perfect balance of being hidden, but not being disconnected from your day. I also want to note that they were great to work with in all the hectic preparations for the wedding. I was living in NY while planning my CA wedding, and they were so helpful and responsive to phone calls/skype meetings to make sure every detail was ironed out. Plus, they are just fun to talk to. I don’t think I’ll be showing any video clips of my wedding 20 years from now, but I will still be in awe of these photos.
Fri Bailey from Wedding Nouveau: Get inspired by the works of husband & wife team – Micah and Megan of Micah Dahlberg Photography. Based out of southern California, this adorable duo brings excellence in photojournalism to a familiar “girl next door” level, adding a touch of finesse. They’re playful, they’re young and energetic and from their bio in which they describe “Mexican food and margaritas as a perfect date”…they are the best friend you want capturing the most intimate of moments at your wedding. Case in point: Liz and Josh’s engagement session amidst a secret gathering of birch trees.
Drew Renner from Shade Tree Films: We love it!!! Consider the Shade Tree Team now some of your crazy blog stalkers. We work with many good photographers who compose nice shots, but what is a rarity is those who wait for and capture true emotion of couples. The pics almost have movement to them because of the emotion that they are bursting with. We love that you not only catch those moments, but your shots are all so different. Keep pushing the envelope!!! We love it all and patiently await another fresh post.
Brooke & Gordon Smith: Sweet Jesus, you two are amazing. First off: you knew every step of the schedule so we didn’t have to. Second, you were so calm and wonderful to hang out with that it turned what should have been a mad pressure-cooker into light, breezy fun. Third, everyone we’ve spoken to was either mega-impressed by or didn’t really notice you–they kinda thought you were just guests taking pix, which is the best compliment I can think of for wedding photographers! Honestly, I can’t think of enough superlatives and can’t really express how grateful we are.
Monika & Adolfo Nunez: Words cannot describe how ecstatic I am! Micah and Megan – you both have an extraordinary gift in capturing the moment perfectly. I knew our pictures would be amazing just by looking at your other work, but I am blown away! I think it says a lot when, prior to the wedding, one of the things I was the most excited about (aside from actually getting married of course) was the photography… and I’m not typically someone who wants my picture taken. You guys made me feel like a model – we couldn’t have chosen better photographers! I could sing your praises for pages, but all I really need to say, from the bottom of my heart, is thanks.
Leslie & Joven Matias: Micah and Megan, thank you so much for these beautiful photos! We are so very happy with how everything turned out in spite of the super hot weather. You guys are troopers!! We really appreciate all that you’ve done throughout the day and I cannot even begin to describe how lucky we feel that you guys covered our wedding. It is the biggest day of our lives after all! You guys are so talented, fun, creative, (and did I say fun?) and overall awesome. I feel like I’m reliving the beautiful day again with these amazing photos that really captured the classic moments. Thank you, Thank you!! P.S. I like the RING-burger. You guys are rad!! P.P.S. And you got a photo of my Dad putting on Joven’s tie!! I love it! I’m speechless. Thank you so much guys! These are so wonderful! You guys were so amazing and really made us feel so comfortable. When we were looking for photographers, we were instantly drawn to the emotion and enthusiasm you guys put into your work and it really shows in the end. Thank You, Thank You, Thank You!!!
